Belcoo Oil Buying Club
Belcoo Oil Buying Club is based on a simple idea - the more people that buy oil together, the lower the cost.
Belcoo Oil Buying Club
Was set up because Northern Ireland remains reliant on expensive home-heating. More than two-thirds (about 68%) of households are dependent on oil as their main heat source. The cheapest way to buy oil is in bulk (for example 500 litres). Many find it difficult to budget for these large one-off bulk deliveries. Larger orders are a higher one-off cost, but smaller orders cost more per litre. Buyers often have no option but to place these smaller, more expensive orders. Belcoo Oil Buying Club is a solution to this problem. Belcoo Oil Buying Club is based on a simple idea - the more people that buy oil together, the lower the cost. You can buy as little as 200 litres of oil. When all club member orders are put together, the Club can get a better price. The savings made are passed on to everyone. The more people that take part, the greater the savings. This service is managed by the Northern Ireland Housing Executive.
How it works:
Get a quote - Members place their order by a specified date - this can be by email, text or phone. Based on estimated monthly order requests, the Club representative will negotiate the best price based on each oil group’s bulk order.
Place your order:
Members are contacted with details of the discounted cost per litre and a proposed delivery date. At this point, you must confirm your order and commit to it.
Receive your oil:
Members will then receive deliveries by their local supplier, on their confirmed delivery date. You must pay on delivery or in advance by debit or credit card directly to your oil supplier. This is dependent on any terms and conditions established with the Belcoo Oil buying Club.
What are the benefits?
You can buy 200 litres without having to buy larger bulk orders. It is free to join. Ordering through an Oil Club means you can avoid having to buy ‘emergency 20 litre oil drums’, which can be much more per litre than a distributor might charge. You avoid the risks with transporting oil in your car and transferring oil into the tank.
Save money:
Members benefit from a reduction in price per litre with the larger volume order and it produces social cohesion and sense of community spirit.
